A press release unveiled this news on March 4, noting that the Dallas Mavericks is the first merchant to accept DOGE as payment for tickets and merchandise. Not wanting to be left behind.Īnd with doge promoting itself as a spendable crypto, having a strong networking effect and already having outsized support there, it's a natural choice. BitPay, the leading provider of crypto payment services, has started letting merchants and consumers accept Dogecoin (DOGE) as payment. It feels rather like every payment system is kind of rushing into the crypto space now. Either way, there is multiple options for consumers. To avoid this, use DOGE, BTC, BCH, or LTC instead. Be wary of ETH fees for Ethereum-based currencies in this wallet, as this is not always explicitly stated. Not wanting to be left out and all, coinpayments and bitpay both offering dogecoin. While BitPay is not my favorite wallet to use for day to day transactions, there is at least the option to transfer in and out of the wallet from others. I built my attempted startup on magento.I think the average person could use some highlighting of what this means.I'm still wondering if paypal might be hot on the heels with it's planned early 2021 crypto implementation. Obviously it had to have some level of out of the box implementation, but it's pretty sweet it has that much. I guess that's a tangible, but all the same.I had no idea that bitpay had easy direct implementations for magento, or that you could use it with apple pay. Honestly, I see the news about the basketball team or whatever it is, oddly overshadowing the thing that drives it, bitpay, for a lot of twitter users. In practice, you can go to a supermarket and use Dogecoin, if you want to. Not to mention, they have an integration with Apple Pay which was announced just a few weeks ago, and you can basically use their prepaid card as a normal prepaid mastercard in all countries where it is available. This means two of the biggest e-commerce platforms have already a fool proof, secure implementation to allow Dogecoin payments, backed by a large company. I have used BitPay in clients websites in the past, and they have plugins ready for Wordpress (through Woocommerce), Magento, and more. I am sure you knew about Bitpay adopting Dogecoin before we did, but I believe this is one of the biggest positive news to come to Doge in the past weeks, also considering that Bitpay is extremely selective in their choice of cryptos (Bitcoin and Eth are the only non stable coins, I believe).ĭo you think it would make sense to somehow pinpoint the news to our users, maybe also through the Twitter channel?
